Simple and light, with reflective hits.
The perfect road running pack.

I took my Io belt for a test run today. I often need a way to carry a phone or a few ancillary items. My LG phone is on the larger size but fit the expandable pocket fairly well. However, the cover on my phone has a non-slick surface so getting it in and out took a tad longer than had it had a slippery, smooth cover.

My belt has the original closure; elastic that slips over a rigid hook. There was no difficulty with this even though it looks a little flimsy. I wore the belt down on my hips a little and there was absolutely no bounce, whether I wore the belt with the pocket in the back or in the front for easy access. (The Io 2.0 appears to have a more substantial belt closure.) I was even able to store my partially filled and empty soft flasks under the belt when I didn’t feel like carrying them anymore. Still no bounce and hardly noticed it was there.

I do like to use bottles in the front pockets of my vest when refill is available. However, that leaves no room for easy access to my phone. I can see using this belt in concert with a hydration pack for phone storage.

I am also considering using the belt for food storage when I used the new 250 ml silicone hand-held flasks. Food and fluid: the perfect combination when miles are not that long and additional clothing or supplies are needed.

Overall, very impressed. My one wish, however, is that the pouch be waterproof. I hate ruining my phone with sweat or rain!
