I took my Io belt for a test run. I often need a way to carry a phone or a few ancillary items. My LG phone is on the larger size but fit the expandable pocket fairly well. However, the cover on my phone has a non-slick surface so getting it in and out took a tad longer than had it had a slippery, smooth cover.

My belt has the original closure; elastic that slips over a rigid hook. There was no difficulty with this even though it looks a little flimsy. I wore the belt down on my hips and there was absolutely no bounce, whether I wore the belt with the pocket in the back or in the front for easy access. (The Io 2.0 appears to have a more substantial belt closure.) I was even able to store my partially filled and empty soft flasks under the belt when I didn’t feel like carrying them anymore.

I like to use bottles in the front pockets of my vest when refill is available. However, that leaves no room for easy access to my phone. I would have no problem using this belt in concert with a hydration pack for phone storage.

I am also considering using the belt for food storage when I used the new 250 ml silicone hand-held flasks. Food and fluid: the perfect combination when miles are not that long and additional clothing or supplies are not needed.

Overall, very impressed. My one wish, however, is that the pouch be waterproof. I hate ruining my phone with sweat or rain!

I haven’t worn anything on my waist running since I couldn’t through my pregnancies and after found that waist packs didn’t work for me anymore. I mostly use hydration vests now (my favorite is the Spry), but sometime I am only going out for a short run and don’t need water and food. I used to go with just a wrist ID but now feel it’s smarter to have my phone with me. The Io is perfect for this plus there is a bit more room for money, a little food and ID if needed. I own a small Io and usually wear XXS or XS clothing.

Great waist pack! Quality design and material. Doesn’t slip or bounce. Holds more than you might think, yet very light and comfortable. Best purchase I’ve ever made.

I’ve never written a review for any past product purchase (good or bad), but had to write one for this waist pack. I love it and was exceedingly surprised by how well it works for me. My main purpose for it is to carry my phone and electric key. At first, I thought my phone wouldn’t fit. It is a Moto G and a bit large, but due to the design of the pack (pleated opening and stretch material), it fits just fine and I can still get my key in. What really made me happy is that the pack doesn’t bounce. I wear it low, across my hips, and it never rides up. There have been a few occasions when I had to swing my arms rather strongly and raise them above shoulder height to keep balanced on a technical trail, but the movement of the pack was miniscule. I simply adjusted it back down (very small adjustment at that) and carried on. I highly recommend this product. Great design, great quality.

This is a great waist pack. You can pack quite a lot in it. It is light, and the best thing is that it actually fit my small waist without bouncing! I’m looking forward to trying other ultraspire products.

This is an excellent waist pack, l love it! I can pack my cell phone along with some calories in it comfortably and it cinches down nicely around my hip bones which is where I like my waist pack to sit. The front closure is a nice flexible design that does not bother my hip flexors once I have the pack tightened. It is small and super easy to have in my go to bag for any last minute running adventures.
