I was recommended by another trail runner to try Ultraspire products. I purchased the Alpha 3.0 and absolutely love it! Very lightweight, pockets are located in all the right places for easy access. I didn’t think I’d like the bottles that they would be too big, but it turns out I do. The bottles held enough water in between aid stations and was easy to get in and out of the pockets. It felt so good to finally not have all the weight on my back. Thank you Ultraspire!

My third Alpha, each one better than its predecessor. I love the evolution of the sternum strap system. The front pockets of the 3.0 are great for hauling food or gear if you prefer a reservoir. That said, the bottles are shaped well and utilize a pliable plastic that seems to be rugged. I may ultimately switch to the bottles full time, until then the reservoir pocket is a nice upgrade. Fantastic craftsmanship and utilitarian design make Ultraspire my go-to hydration gear.

It is an awesome pack that holds bottles and a bladder! I love it!!!!!!!!!

I’ve done a couple 10 miles runs with this pack and it worked awesome. Stayed close with minimal bounce. Look forward to trying it on longer days.

I love this pack. It’s perfect for me for all my distance running. I love the fit, the style, the pockets, the strapping, everything about it. So of course, I bought both the black and red vests.

  6. Chris Talley

I love the versatility of this pack! So far I’ve used it for racing 50Ks with a couple of bottles in the front pouches and for long training runs with a 2 liter bladder in the pack. It fits comfortably, is easy to adjust and breathes well.

  7. David Bennett

Comfortable with plenty of storage space and easy easy access!

  8. Nici Dunn

The Alpha 3.0 is my second Alpha. I love the new zipper pocket. The Alpha is very comfortable to wear, with a lot of storage pockets. It also has a sweatproof phone-pocket. Absolutely love using it for long or short runs.

There may not be an Alpha 4.0 I don’t know what they could possibly do to improve 3.0. Before I rave about all of the improvements, the straps were pulled through upon receipt and I could not figure out how to use them. I was greeted on the 2nd Ring by Tina, the most enthusiastic customer support person, ever. I did not have to get transferred, she took care of me, she even offered to video chat.
Quick Strapping into a perfect fit couldn’t be easier. The Water bottle pockets are high quality and can even stuff more stuff in them with the bottles. I love these soft comfortably curved water bottles. The larger side pockets are a “right sized” The ability to zip up the back compartment makes it totally usable for longer runs, even over night.
This UltraSpire YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mo_a1pOj4g says it best.
This is probably my 5th Ultraspire vest.

This is pretty much my go-to summer running pack. I’ve used it excessively in several combinations being bottles in front, gear in the main pocket, and reservoir setup with nutrition in the front pockets. It all works. It’s quite stable with a light load and is still comfortable with nothing in the main pocket (no loose fabric, etc.). If you use a 2 liter reservoir there’s only really room for a light jacket and pants, but it can handle it. The magnets on the side are strong enough to keep the openings closed so your larger items don’t fall out; still, use common sense and don’t expect small things in the bottom to stay in, there’s still a small opening. Only thing I wished it had was slightly taller front pockets. My phone did fall out one time without realizing it and added on a few extra miles and large amount of elevation gain. Also the bottles I feel have to be sort of forced down all the way to make sure the shock cord holds them properly. Finally, the small “trash” side pockets are quite awkward to reach.

I love this pack! Just the right size to bring all the gear I want for daily training runs, with plenty of room to spare. Works great for longer runs when I want to bring more with me too. The bottles that are included are awesome.

My first UltrAspire pack, but I’ll be back for more.

    P.S. Phenomenal customer service too!!

Purchased this vest to wear in a 20 mile trail race in Montana. It is the perfect vest for distances up to twenty miles or longer with aid stations. It carries very well and is light and super breathable. I carried the two bottles in the chest pockets and had no bounce or issues with them staying in place. The back pocket looks small, but don’t be deceived. It is stretchy and expands and holds more than you would think. I carried a windbreaker, hat, gloves and food in the back and could have put more in the pocket if needed. The best complement I could give this race pack is that I never thought about it during the race. It was comfortable, easy to adjust and carried very well. I am definitely sold on UltrAspire products. Just order another larger vest.

I really do love the updated version of this pack. Compared to the previous version, this pack seems to have a more streamlined fit. The updated pockets also allow for the use of bottle in the front but when I am just storing nutrition or my phone, the pocket maintain their shape and don’t bounce. I use this pack for short and long runs (with aid stations) because it’s easy to refill the reservoir and I can carry extra gear such a a rain jacket, arm warmers, and waist lamp easily. The pack fits so well, I rarely ever notice I have it on.
