I have been running with this vest for around 1 month, very handful tool, light and a lot of places for energy gels, bars, phone, light, jacket, or whatever you want to put on for your runs, you can put a 2 liters water blade on with no problem, proper fit without bouncing while you run, was a very smart purchase get this race vest! no regrets!

  2. Jake 3

This is absolutely the go to for runs for me now. It allows for a multitude of hydration options, as well as how you hold those bottles too. There is a learning curve to accessing the back bottles but does not hinder my love. The side stretch pockets are roomy and hug items tight without needing to fumble a zipper like many others. The vest also does a great job witht eh honeycomb mesh of pulling moisture off you amd not holding it itself.

The Legacy is a great pack. It’s so comfortable that you may forget you are wearing it. The front cellphone pocket fit my IPhone 7 Plus and Case perfectly and I was able to store all of my race needs. I prefer the 550 ml flasks and you can keep 4 on you at all times for long self supported adventures. The two larger pockets easily accommodated a first aid kit, rain jacket, knife, buff, socks, headlamps, and more. I have used this pack for a trail 1/2 marathon and a 50 miler and no complaints what so ever. Looking forward to the next race with my Legacy!

A great all around training/racing pack! I use this pack for 10+ mile obstacle course racing style training (carrying logs) and ultra trail training. I love the pockets up front and extra storage around back. I’m looking forward to racing 50-100 milers in this on 2019

I love the versatility of this vest. I’ve used it for day hikes and 15+ mile long runs and have been able to fit everything I needed (and then some) in the vest. I’ve put a rain jacket, first aid kit, 2L hydration bladder, two 550 ml water bottles, the Formula 250 water bottle, waist lamp and a myriad of snacks in this vest and it still rides like a dream. I really like that there are generally more pockets and different types of pockets (bungee cord, zippered, waterproof etc) on the front of the vest; it makes it easy to stash all my running/hiking necessities. I also really like the additional bottle pouches on the back of the vest. I agree with Jake 3 above; there is a learning curve to snagging bottles from the back while one the move. I have the same issue with my hiking and backpacking packs so I think this is a “me” problem and not a design flaw specific to the Legacy vest. With the added pockets on the Legacy, I can store bottles in the back pouches and have a more comfortable run without sacrificing nutrition or hydration. I’m really looking forward to putting this vest through its paces at some ultras next year!

Okay, larger chested ladies, this pack is comfortable and doesn’t give you that super uniboob look as you squeeze into straps that are placed in just the wrong places. This pack is the kind of comfortable that you forget you’re wearing it. It’s incredibly adjustable and can fit lots of body types. Bounce? Nope. Distributes weight well and man, you can fill this thing. I still haven’t managed to stuff it full and I carry lots of stuff on the long runs.
Comfy, no chaffing, adjustable, light weight and lots of room. Try it out!

Perfect pack for training and racing. Lot’s of storage for hydration, food and essential clothing and gear for the longer adventures. Great fit with no bouncing and easy adjustments. Easy to pull on and take off for quick access and and bladder refill at aid stations. The pack itself is very lightweight and well constructed. I can’t think of a single aspect of this pack that could be improved. Thanks Ultraspire!

Upon receiving the UltrAspire Legacy Race Vest, it did not take me long to see its value. I have used it for runs from roughly 13 miles through 23 miles so far. It has held the bottles, nutrition and other gear I need for long trail runs while providing me comfort on my journey.

Storage is one area where the vest shines. For example, the front pockets were created to carry a variety of bottles including the two bottles that come with the vest as well as the 550ml UltraFlask. Meanwhile, the side pockets can also store bottles. Or runners can use the shock cord to secure necessary items like a headlamp, jacket or other clothing, or nutrition.

The Legacy vest has room in the back for a bladder to keep fluids cool for a longer period of time. Personally, I would opt to use that space for storage for a jacket or other clothing for longer runs.

UltrAspire designed and built the vets so that runners and hikers who use trekking poles can easily attach them and access them without removing the pack.

After becoming disenchanted with my previous vest, especially how it carried poles, I set my sights on this great piece of gear. The detailed reviews, along with the videos sold me on it. I LOVE how the pole straps in the back have a pull tab, so you have plenty of space to slide them in, then pull them tight.
Additional LOVES include the HUGE amount of storage space in the front of the vest, including a nicely padded phone pocket on the right side (where I happen to carry my phone anyways). The elastic straps for front closures are AMAZING. Their ability to flex with the heaving of the chest really helps the fit.
The bottle placement on the back of the pack does take a while to get accustomed to (as previous reviews have noted). I really like the fact that they hold just about any type of bottle though. After three uses, I think I’m pretty much adjusted. I don’t think I could get them in and out at top speed, but then again, I’m probably not trying to drink when maxed out anyways.
With how I’ve fit the vest to myself, the only slight drawback is the placement of the pockets that are high on the shoulders. Anything I put in there tends to place pressure right on my collarbones. I liked the small zipper pocket on the left side for a chap stick, but it starts to hurt after a few miles. (I will freely admit that I do always use my vest just about fully loaded, even in training).

This pack is EVERYTHING you need! It’s light, very comfortable, and stores everything perfectly! I am a petite frame and struggle with “bounce” in packs—but this vest fits so well and is so comfortable it has become my go to pack! I LOVE the pole holding feature-easy to access and operate without stoping. This bag covers pretty much any need you may have for a hydration pack!
