Company Accountant

UltrAspire is looking for an experienced, dependable Company Accountant to oversee our day-to-day accounting operations. This role serves as the company’s primary accounting professional and plays an important part in maintaining the financial health of a growing outdoor brand.

About the Role

As our Company Accountant, you’ll manage the company’s daily accounting functions, maintain accurate financial records, oversee accounts payable and receivable, reconcile accounts, and provide timely financial reporting to management.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys bringing structure, accuracy, and organization to financial operations while helping support a growing business.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage all day-to-day accounting operations
  • Maintain accurate financial records within QuickBooks Online
  • Process accounts payable, vendor invoices, and payments
  • Manage accounts receivable, customer invoicing, and collections
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, merchant accounts, loans, and balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare monthly financial statements including:

    • Profit & Loss Statements
    • Balance Sheets
    • Cash Flow Reports
  • Complete month-end and year-end close
  • Maintain the General Ledger and proper account classifications
  • Coordinate payroll processing and payroll records
  • Track inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), landed costs, and inventory adjustments
  • Reconcile accounting records with Fishbowl Inventory
  • Record and reconcile wholesale, e-commerce, marketplace, and direct-to-consumer sales
  • Assist with sales tax reporting and compliance
  • Organize financial documentation and reporting records
  • Monitor company cash flow and communicate financial insights to management
  • Work with the company’s CPA during tax preparation and year-end reporting
  • Improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and reporting processes
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding company, employee, customer, and financial information

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of professional accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online
  • Experience with:

    • Accounts Payable
    • Accounts Receivable
    • Bank Reconciliations
    • Month-End Close
  • Understanding of accrual accounting and GAAP
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Professionalism, integrity, and discretion

Preferred

  • Inventory-based accounting experience
  • Consumer products, manufacturing, sporting goods, wholesale, or e-commerce accounting
  • Fishbowl Inventory (or similar inventory software)
  • International purchasing, freight, duties, and landed cost accounting
  • Marketplace and payment platform reconciliation
  • Payroll administration
  • Multi-state sales tax reporting
  • CPA certification (preferred but not required)
