The Speedgoat 4.0 is Karl Meltzer’s latest iteration of his signature long-distance waist pack, designed for stability and easy access. This enhanced model features a larger capacity front pocket for additional gear storage and zippered side pockets for better organization. An updated aluminum buckle allows for easier closure and access, ensuring a streamlined experience on the trails. Retaining its low center of gravity, the Speedgoat 4.0 helps you navigate technical trails while conserving energy during long outings. It includes two UltraFlask 550 Hybrid Bottles, housed in insulated holsters that keep fluids cooler for extended periods. The holsters are ergonomically positioned on the back of your hips for quick access without obstructing your arm swing. In addition to hydration, the pack features a 4-way stretch mesh zippered pocket for items you may need later, with quick stash pockets on each holster for items requiring more frequent access. The front pocket is designed to hold a large cell phone and Z-pole attachments for easy retrieval or stowing of trekking poles on the move. Excited to use! I have the Plexus 2.0 and it’s great! I have used that belt on several races. I wanted and tried to buy a vest (bottle system) but my arms are not flexible enough and/or too short to reach for them? Momentum original I could reach but bottles hit back of my arms when tested out/as some reviews reported. So this belt will hopefully work for my longer races, 10k+. I have my faithful Osprey vest Dyna but wanted a bottle system vs. Bladder. Hope this will be my next best companion for longer runs! I’ll update and/or provide review again once I have used. Also, customer service in my exchange process (vest to this belt)-excellent! Great products amd customer service! Go Ultraspire!
For size reference: female, petite, 5’2″, 135lbs. My male friend, 5’11, 170lbs., tried to reach for bottles in Momentum 3.0 and despite his long/average arms he also said his arms didn’t bend that way.
