Since the first iteration of the Zygos, tens of thousands of runners have utilized this high-capacity 14 liter race vest. The lightweight and comfortable wrap-around design complimented by the ErgoFit Harness ensures the Zygos 6.0 will be stable, comfortable, and hindrance free. The pack’s MaxO2 Form adjustable closure system secures and adapts to the pack’s load. This innovative system can conform the pack to the body using a single pull. Similar to the MaxO2 Sternum, this system allows the pack to remain secured without impeding natural breathing. Featuring 12 pockets total, 10 of them being accessible on-the-go, the Zygos 6.0 prioritizes access and gear allocation. The main back compartment has been reinforced at the stress points with XT fabric which contains stronger than steel ripstop fibers. This pack includes 2 800 mL Softflasks and is compatible with a 2L Reservoir and any of our other hydration options. Available in 3 sizes to ensure a perfect fit. Sizing as follows: Small (30″-35″), Medium (35″-40″) or Large (40″-45″)

2 reviews for Zygos 6.0 Race Vest

  1. Dandelion

The Zygos 5.0 has been my go-to ultra distance race vest for many seasons and I was excited to try the new Zygos 6.0. The steele blue colorway is perfect for hot climate races or outings with high sun exposure. The front pocket set up has been completely reconfigured from the 5.0, but still provides the user with many options to stow gear in easy to access compartments. The new format allows the runner to carry two 800ml flasks up front (or the 500ml flasks, just use the shock cord to hold up lower volume containers). I was concerned that carrying 800ml flasks up front would feel awkward or uncomfortable, but the new stretch fabric holds the bottles in well as they drain and prevents annoying bounce. Additional hydration can be stowed in the lower side pockets if needed for events that require long water carries (like Cocodona 250). The versatility afforded by the new pockets is excellent in this regard. Like the previous version, the 6.0 carries a high volume of gear in the back without bounce/chafe and cinches down when not quite packed to the brim. The more durable water resistant grid fabric on the main compartment is a welcome upgrade as well making this version better equipped to handle running through rain and snowstorms. I’m looking forward to using the Zygos 6.0 during the 2025 race season and beyond!

Having relied on the Zygos 5.0 for countless ultra-distance races, I was thrilled to put the new Zygos 6.0 to the test. Three weeks ago, I completed the C&O 100-mile race, and I owe a huge thanks to the company for ensuring I received the vest before race day.

The first thing I noticed was the refreshed front pocket configuration. While the layout is different from the 5.0, it offers even more versatility. The Zygos 6.0 comfortably holds two 800ml flasks up front—an upgrade that had me initially concerned about balance and comfort. However, the new stretch fabric keeps the bottles secure and minimizes bounce, even as they empty. For those who prefer 500ml flasks, the integrated shock cord easily adjusts to accommodate smaller bottles.

Hydration management is another area where the 6.0 shines. Along with the front flasks, the lower side pockets provide additional storage for water, making it perfect for races with long stretches between aid stations, like the Cocodona 250. The main compartment also got an upgrade with a more durable, water-resistant grid fabric, which proved invaluable during wet conditions, keeping my gear dry without adding extra weight.

Just like its predecessor, the Zygos 6.0 maintains a stable, bounce-free carry, even when fully packed, and it cinches down neatly when carrying less gear. This combination of capacity, stability, and comfort made a noticeable difference during the C&O 100, where quick access to hydration and gear was critical.

Overall, the Zygos 6.0 is a worthy successor to the 5.0, bringing even more functionality, comfort, and durability. I’m excited to keep using it in the 2025 race season and beyond. Please keep this one forever!!!!!!!!
